"
The prospectus and leaflet are nothing short of absolutely brilliant. I think the intelligent empathetic wordsmithery combined with superb and creative presentation reflects a uniqueness of sheer quality that I have seldom, if ever, encountered. A design triumph.

: background
East Staffordshire Children’s Centre opened in August 2004 and brings childcare, family support and health services for the under 5s together in one building. It was one of the first to open under the Government’s new initiative to put a Children’s Centre into the heart of every community UK-wide. Although the Centre offers a broad range of quality family services, it is competing with other local childcare providers. It, therefore, needs local families to access its services and, to do this, they need to be fully aware of what’s available. Barbryn worked with the Children’s Centre to produce an eye-catching corporate brochure which would inform families about the services and encourage them to use them.

Every Family Matters In Burton

Barbryn created the Book of Fun, a 24 page activity book packed with quizzes, puzzles, jokes and games. The book was aimed at junior school age children and, while each page provided lots of fun things to do, it also highlighted a different area of the Partnership’s work. Issues such as healthy eating, looking after your neighbourhood, getting active and taking care of the environment were all covered through different puzzles and fun ‘did you know’ facts and figures.

Once children had completed all the puzzles, they were entered into a prize draw to win a Heart of Burton goodie bag. Neighbourhood Wardens took the books into local schools and encouraged teachers to plan lessons around some of the issues covered.
